Beneath the Light

Light, for an artist, is often considered a vital part of a composition. With this piece, I wanted to explore the complexity of light. In most cases, people only notice the difference in value but I wanted to focus on the different aspects of light; how the light reflects from clothing to how the shadows have a variety of hues within areas of the skin. Though this piece was challenging, I feel that I was able to learn more about light and the complexity it brings to a piece.
